Jury Seated In Wright Murder Trial/Updated
The trial of a Zanesville man accused in the death of his child started Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court. Whiz News Reporter Nichole Medaugh says a jury has been seated and includes 8 women and 4 men. After a short break opening statements will take place in the case. 28-year-old Dale Wright is facing one count of murder and one count of endangering children in the death of his 5 month old son Dash Christopher Ray Wright. The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office says on August 2nd of 2010 deputies were called to a home in the 2000 block of the East Pike and found the infant not breathing. The child died on August 3rd at Children Hospital in Columbus. Sheriff Matt Lutz says a preliminary autopsy showed the child died of blunt force trauma to his skull. Wright faces life in prison if he is convicted. The trial is expected to last through Thursday.
