KATHLEEN V. SEARLS, 85, formerly of Duncan Falls, passed away at 7:50 am, May 16, 2011 at Emeritus at North Hills, Zanesville.

Katie was born January 9, 1926 in Deavertown, OH the daughter of the late Walter and Leona (Barringer) Inman. She enjoyed cooking and yard sales and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a kind and caring person to all who knew her.

She was a very proud military wife and mother, watching her husband serve in WWII and her children serve in Vietnam.

Katie is survived by her three sons Danny (Kris) Searls of Zanesville; Rick (Carolyn) Searls of Greenville S.C. and Jimmy Searls of Zanesville; 9 grandchildren Ali, Tricia, Dustin, Scott, Brad, Angie, Jamie, Brody and Jordon; 2 great-grandchildren Alex, Brendon and Kali, a brother Roger (Liz) Inman of Deavertown and many dear friends at Emeritus.

In addition to her parents, Katie is preceded in death by her Husband Jack J. Searls who passed away November 2, 1991, a daughter Sandy Searls; her brothers Dale and Lowell Inman, three sisters Betty Blankenship and Ruth and Wanda Inman two great-grandchildren Alex and Corey.

Visitations will be 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday May 18, 2011 at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11am Thursday with her son Pastor Rick Searls officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
