Kids Get Ultimate Musical Experience
Preschool age children up through teenagers in high school are getting the ultimate musical experience this week.
This is the sixth year for the C.A.S.S Performing Arts Camp, which is being held at the Hallowed Hills Campground in Zanesville.
CEO and Founder of the camp, Cassandra McDonald, says about 50 kids are taking part this year.
“We’re not only from Ohio, but we bring people as far as Georgia sometime. So, it’s really a unique thing, ” says McDonald.
McDonald says the camp is a hands on experience that will enhance the kids’ musical backgrounds.
“We do the genres of classical, jazz, and gospel. So, we kind of hit it all and get all the instruments. We have departmentalization of the strings, the band instruments, the vocal, and also the piano, ” says McDonald.
McDonald says her producer, who produced her CD, has a special treat for the kids too.
“He brings in $20,000 worth of equipments, and all during the week, we have a media lab. The kids are composing. (They) tell me they’re in the bed at night playing their instruments in their hand so they can get ready,” says McDonald.
McDonald says if you’re interested in sending your kids to the C.A.S.S Performing Arts Camp, it’s not too late.
