Kids Learn Healthy Fun
Local kids had fun while learning to live healthy and eat right.
It was the 3rd Annual Fun with Health and Fitness day at the James Singer Center in Zanesville. The days activities encouraged kids to get out, get active and watch what they eat.
"Unfortunately today obesity is just increasing in staggering numbers," said United Health Care Community’s Michele Shrier. "We want to educate kids and families that you can have fun and eat healthy and do good healthy activities free of charge."
This was the first year the United way Health Care Community teamed-up with the Memorial Health Clinic to also provide flu-shots.
"Generally the children are the ones who give the parents the flu so it’s really important to get the kids vaccinated for the flu during this season," said Memorial Health Center Crystal Bebot. "They are not as conscience of washing their hands, covering their mouths during a cough, and so on. So they tend to be our little germ spreaders in the community."
For those afraid of needles and a flu mist was available.
