ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The wait is finally over, the Kidzville 2 Park opened officially opened Friday Morning.

Parents watched over their kids slide down the slide, and climb up the new rock wall, just as they remember spending their summers growing up at the original park.

Doug Hobson, the Community Prganizer, said volunteers were eager to help get this new park built.

“A lot of people that were like, hey I helped build the first one, I gotta be part of the second one, because look how much better it is, said Hobson.”

The original Kidzville, built back in 1995, has been completely redone. 160 volunteers each day worked for five days straight to get the new playground built.

Organizers wanted to make the new playground all about the kids and the community, by featuring local attractions like a play boat to replicate the Lorena Sternwheeler.

Hobson said all the hours of hard work was worth seeing the smiles on the kids faces.

“You know you look at all the hard things that we see on the news the bad things that we see on a daily basis, said Hobson. “When you have something like this you know it takes that brief moment and makes you feel good inside.”

Kidzville 2 features plenty of new attractions that will hopefully make this a summer for kids to remember.
