Coshocton City Schools will have a new superintendent starting in August.

On Thursday, at a board of education meeting the district voted to hire Ronald “Mark” Kowalski. Kowalski currently serves as superintendent of the Liberty-Benton Local School District, near Findlay, where he’s been since 2017.

The Coshocton County City School Board with support from the Muskingum Valley Education Service Center began its search in March. Eight candidates expressed interest in the position. Kowalski is familiar with Coshocton City Schools, he spent nine years at the high school teaching social studies.

Kowalski replaces Dr. Dave Hire, who previously announced his resignation.
