Larry Rhoden
Larry Ray Rhoden, 65, passed away peacefully at his home on September 13, 2026.
Born February 27, 1961, in Hamilton County, Ohio, Larry was the son of Mary Olive (Wells) Rhoden of Ohio and Marion Joseph Rhoden of Kentucky.
Larry became part of the Residential, Inc. family on May 15, 2020. From the moment he arrived, his warm presence, bright smile, and one-of-a-kind personality touched the hearts of everyone around him. He had a special way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved. The friendships he formed there were precious to him, and he became an unforgettable part of the lives of his staff and roommates.
Larry found great joy in the things that brought people together. He proudly played for the PerCo Cougars basketball team, where he treasured the game, his teammates, and the many friendships he made along the way. He loved music and singing, especially “Jesus Loves Me,” “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” and Christmas songs.
Christmas was especially magical for Larry. He loved Santa, glowing lights, the Christmas tree, holiday music, and every joyful detail of the season. Decorating for holidays gave him so much happiness, but Christmas held a place in his heart unlike any other.
Notes from friends and staff could brighten his entire day. He loved giving and receiving hugs, and he took comfort in the familiar people who cared for him each day.
Larry will be fondly remembered for the phrases that made everyone smile: “Hey Friend,” “Old Lady,” “Old Man,” “Hey Bert,” “I won’t do that no more,” “I told you yes,” and “Watch this.” These words, along with his contagious smile and joyful spirit, will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved him.
Residential, Inc. extends its heartfelt gratitude to Crystal of Genesis Hospice for the compassionate care, kindness, and unwavering support she provided to Larry. Her dedication and gentle presence brought comfort during a difficult time, and she truly went above and beyond.
Larry’s absence will be deeply felt, but the love, laughter, and light he brought into the world will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a lasting imprint on the hearts of his staff, roommates, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
