Last Look at the Library
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The John McIntire Library will soon be undergoing renovations to better meet the needs of the 21st Century public.
Muskingum County Library System Marketing and Community Relations Director Sean Fennell announced an upcoming event that will share all of the renovation details with the public.
“It’s the John McIntire last look party. Everyone is invited. We would love to see you come down and take a last look at the John McIntire Library, we currently know and love, so you can see the before and then also get a sneak peek at a lot of the brand-new renderings for the event itself. So you get to see what we’ve been working on and envisioning, what our vision is for the reopening,” Fennell said.
The last look party will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 1st.
Beginning Monday the 4th, the library will be closed for 7 days to relocate temporarily into the lower level of the Carnegie Wing of the building.
“For the last look party, you can expect to be able to walk around the John McIntire Library,” Fennell said. “There will be several, kind of, stations with some large print-outs of the new renderings or the kind of print-outs or ideas or pictures of what we’ve been formulating so that we can show everyone what we are really looking to accomplish and achieve for our renovation. There will also be cookies, so keep that in mind.”
Return bins will be available at the library during the weeklong shutdown or patrons can also pick up and return items at any of the other Muskingum County Library System’s locations.
