Leap into Adventure with MCLS’s New Program
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library System will have you leaping out of your seat with excitement with their newest program.
The Leaping Lizards Program is an entertaining and educational program where kids and adults alike can learn all about lizards.
Sean Fennell, the Marketing and Community Relations Director with the MCLS, said the program will be split between a presentation and hands-on experience with the lizards.
“This year’s Summer Reading theme is ‘Adventure Beings at Your Library’, and I don’t know about you, but being around reptiles and holding reptiles feels like a bit of an adventure,” Fennell said. “And it sure will for the kids as well, kids always respond wonderfully to all of our animal type programming and Leaping Lizards is just a wonderful example of this type of programming.”
Fennell says you will have 3 opportunities to see the lizards up close.
The first will be at the John McIntire Library on Wednesday at 10:30 AM, the second at the South Branch on Thursday at 5:30 PM , and the final chance is at the Duncan Falls/Philo Branch on Thursday July 18th at 5:30.
He says this program wouldn’t have been possible without help from the Friends of the Library.
“The Friends of the Library have sponsored this program and they are a group of volunteers that help support the library financially by running book sales and other kinds of fundraising events as well.” Fennell said. “So we were able to host and bring in this special program for multiple Library locations because of the generosity of our Friends of the Library,”
