ZANESVILLE, Ohio–The Muskingum County Library System is offering a program that will improve people’s computer skills.

Northstar Digital Literacy is a free resource for a wide variety of people. Emerging Technologies Assistant Kylie Bell says  the program can help everyone from a beginner learning computer basics all the way to advanced learners.

“North Star is great for everyone because it starts from the very basics such as mouse keyboard skills, opening up the internet, and it does go into those higher, harder types of activities. Like email and navigating social media,” Bell said.

Learners can access the program through the library’s website at any time without a library card. The program is linked through the library’s research database pages.

Bell says people should take the time to go through the program because technology is a big aspect of daily life.

“North star is a great resource just to be able to tighten up those skills or learn the basics. At this point in our society, technology isn’t going away,” Bell said. “Being able to even jump on to those basics is going to make everybody’s life just a little bit simpler.”

The library is also offering one-on-one tech time appointments. People can call and set up an appointment to go over the Northstar Digital Literacy program.
