Learning About Social Media In The Workplace
Social Media is an up and coming tool for many places in the workforce, and Friday, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce held an event to help educate professionals. The event speaker, Lindsay Boufffard focused on social media and the workplace.
“We’ll talk about what you can do with social media when you are hiring employees. Whether you can discipline employees for certain social media and how employers can avoid any snafus with social media that they might be using themselves.”
Bouffard believes that the best social media platform for the workplace is LinkedIn due to its ability to connect you with other professionals. Bouffard shared her thoughts with us about how in touch she feels workplaces are with the use of the technology.
“I think that companies are aware that their employees are using social media, but their not sure what the limits are of that. They’re not sure how to monitor that or whether they can discipline employees on something that gets posted on social media. Its really a pretty vast territory and so there’s still a lot for employers to learn in this area.”
She invites anyone to contact her for more information either on-line or on the phone.
