ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Since the 2024 purchase of 74 acres at the intersection of State Route 60 and Olde Falls Road, plenty of man-hours have gone into excavation and utilities installations that will support the future Leasure Farms housing development.

Lepi & Associates Real Estate Services Associate Broker Dylan Parry explained the vision of the project and how it will benefit the community decades into the future.

“This development will bring 86 brand new homes to the Zanesville market,” Parry said. “And those will range anywhere between $300,000 to $400,000 dollars in price. And they’ll offer a variety of floor plans from two story homes to ranch style homes. And those will range from three to five bedrooms.”

Parry noted that the city has experienced a shortage of single-family homes during the past five years and is happy to see new homes being built, which address that challenge.

“The property was donated by Aileen Leasure in 2014 to the Muskingum County Community Foundation. And just in the past year-and-a-half they sold that property to a developer from Newark. And that developer is contracting with D.R. Horton to build the homes in the development,” Parry said.

A public ground breaking ceremony for the Leasure Farms Development will take place from 3-to-5 p.m. Thursday, December 18th. Each structure will take approximately 120 days to build and the modern, energy efficient homes will be situated in the West Muskingum School District.
