Lending a Helping Hand

A helping hand extends from one local church to the community during their 8th Annual Free Stuff Giveaway.

Many people got up early Saturday morning in time to be the first at North Terrace to pick through mountains of clothes, toys, shoes and more. Those helped couldn’t be more thankful.

“It’s nice of them to do this for us,” said Kyle Morgan. “it’s just helpful.”

Many of the items at North Terrace are donated by their own members and even they’re awed each year by the amount of items.

“It’s a pleasant surprise. It kind of tells me that our church people are having the right kind of attitude and sharing with others, especially in a time in the economy where people are truly genuinely in need,” said North Terrace Lead Pastor Bill Meaige.

Over a thousand people attended this year’s event.
