Library Offering Bagged Book Program

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio-The Muskingum County Library System is beginning its annual Book Bag program.

The program is a favorite amongst library staff who look forward to it year round. Marketing assistant Rob Cook tells us more.

“Once a year, much like the Super Bowl, we have our book bags to go program. Which for adults is a great opportunity to learn about new authors and new genres. What you do is you grab one of these bags, it has three books in it, you read the books, return the books, but you keep the bag. Each of the bags is labeled with what kind of genre it might be.”, Cook explained.

The program is seen as the adult companion piece to the children’s summer reading program.

“We do summer reading for the children and we found that the adults sort of get to miss out a little bit on that so this kind of started as a partner for that… Just stop by any location. All of our locations have them. You stop in, browse the bags, find one you like and check it out.”, Cook continued.

More information on this as well as the other library programs can be found on their website.
