Licking County Fatal

State Patrol Troopers investigate a fatal accident in Licking County.

The accident took place on Raccoon Valley Road west of Louden Street in Granville Township around 1:10 Sunday afternoon.

Troopers said 37-year-old Richard Hardy of Columbus was driving his 2004 Ford Escape west on Raccoon Valley Road when it went off the right side of the roadway in a curve. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment, striking a culvert where it then overturned and ejected Hardy.

Hardy was taken to Grant Hospital by Granville EMS where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers said Hardy was not wearing a seat belt.
