Linda Offenbacher

Linda Ann (Dodson) Offenbacher, 76, of Zanesville passed- away December 10, 2020 at the

Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness (not COVID). Probably best she left this world before

seeing Biden take office.

Linda was born April 24, 1944 to Ralph and Marjorie Dodson. She married her high school

sweetheart in December of 1962 and together they traveled the country. They established a

construction and rental business and built a life that culminated in living on a hill with their

daughters and Linda’s sister. The family compound will never be the same.

Linda leaves behind her husband of 57 years, John Offenbacher, to fend for himself in the

kitchen. Luckily she left the pantry stocked with enough canned goods for the next 15 years.

Linda set the standard for her daughters, Kelly (John) Sherman and Kimberly St. Clair (William

Evans), showing them the importance of family and being together.

Linda was beloved by her grandchildren, Alexandria Sherman, Kelsey (John) Mlinarcik, and

Chase and Chloe Howard. We’ll think of you whenever we eat fudge that’s never as good as

yours and get out the seasonal dish towels you gave us. No one will be able to take your place

at the dinner table.

She is survived by her sister, Dixie (Tim) Patterson, her brothers Ralph (Kate) Dodson, Joe

(Rose) Dodson, Dan (Barb) Dodson, sister-in-law Peggy Glaub, many nieces, and nephews,

great nieces and nephews, and friend, Adrian Browning.

Linda loved shopping, watching Jeopardy, and vacationing with her family. She was a huge flirt

and made friends everywhere she went. You may have known her as the lady that got donuts

every Tuesday or run into her getting her hair done twice a week by her friend, Susie Cherubini.

Her love language was food, and she loved nothing more than sitting down for a big family

dinner, sending her grandchildren off with freshly baked bread, and scolding her husband for

cutting into the pie before dinner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Tom Dodson, her brothers-in-law,

George Offenbacher and Leonard Glaub, and sister-in-law, Shirley Offenbacher.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 16, 2020 at the William Thompson and Son Funeral Home White Cottage. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment Zanesville Memorial Park.
