Lining up for Chocolate
Valentine’s Day is known for getting your significant other a card, flowers, even that stuffed teddy bear…but today it was all about the chocolate.
The 17th annual Chocolate Extravaganza was held at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Coshocton, and people were lining out the door to get a taste of the sweet stuff.
"I think chocolate is also very romantic. Since it’s Valentine’s Day-people love getting chocolate on Valentine’s Day-so this is a wonderful way for people to come and have a date, " says event coordinator Mindy Brems.
Those attending were greeted with a wonderful aroma of chocolate, and then came the difficult task of choosing which sweet treat would go in your box. Tables were lined with brownies, chocolate chip cookies, truffles, and chocolate cheesecake-to name a few.
But how did those serving resist the temptation of eating what was on the table?
"Who says we don’t take part. We take part. Yeah, it’s tempting. It’s very hard to choose though because we see everything when it comes in. It’s very difficult to make your choices when we fill our boxes, " says event coordinator Mickie Galajda and Brems.
About 350 people attended the event. Proceeds will go toward the Pomerene Center for the Arts.
