Lions Club Labor Day Car Show

Some residents of Frazeysburg spent their Labor Day checking out unique cars displayed on the lawn at the Township Hall.

The Frazeysburg Lions Club’s 15th Annual Car Show brought out a variety of cars competing for 25 trophies.

“They just come in we don’t have classes we just go by sponsors choice,” says Bob Hidel, Car Show co-chair. “Whoever sponsors their trophy then they can get their pick of the car they like or they want and that’s who the trophy will go to.”

Proceeds from the Car Show help the Lions Club purchase eyeglasses for needy students in the Tri-Valley School District. Part of the money raised will also go toward the Pilot Dogs program.

“That is where students who need a dog for a guide dog can go there in Columbus and they get their training with a dog, but they have to be matched. The dog has to match with the person, personality and everything and then if they match up then they go through the training and become eligible to have a pilot dog,” says Hindel.

The Lions Club is currently accepting donations of new or craft items for their October 17 supper and public auction. The event in the Frazeysburg Elementary School gym begins at 4:30, with the auction starting at 6:30. Donations will be accepted through October 1st.
