ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Salvation Army is in the middle of its Christmas kettle campaign and needs your help.

In an effort to raise more funds for The Salvation Army, local painter and Salvation Army, board member, Ron Apperson has donated 500 exclusive paintings of the old Lash High School for the red kettle campaign. With a donation of $5 or more, you’ll receive a picture copy autographed by Ron Apperson.

“I graduated from Zanesville high school, at that time it was called lash high school,” Apperson said. “That is a piece of history now. Zanesville history. A lot of the younger people don’t even remember that name.”

The funds from this campaign will go towards The Salvation Army’s daily soup kitchen, emergency homeless shelter, rent and utility assistance, clothing room, and food pantry.

“All of the funds that go to the donation in the kettles goes to The Salvation Army, which then goes to the community,” Apperson mentioned. “Your loose change changes lives in our community.”

Apperson said the reason he chose to use his talent to help The Salvation Army, is because The Salvation Army touches many lives.
