Local author hosts book signing at A New Beginning bookstore

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A local author sets up shop at A New Beginning Book Store to sign books for fans.

Debby L. Johnston is a Christian fiction writer who released her latest book last month. The book, “Create in Me a Clean Heart”, is the third in her series “Cherish” which follows a young man named Andy Garrett as he seeks God in his life. Johnston said her husband Scott is the inspiration for her books.

“Scott is my Andy. Scott is one of those people who remembers everything that’s ever happened to him from the time he came out of the womb. And he can tell stories and weave stories that people enjoy hearing,” said Johnston. “Many of these stories end up in this book.” 

Johnston said the books aren’t autobiographical, but they’re stories people can relate to. Her hope is people will find God through her books.

“There’s something missing. There’s something lacking. And God is that answer. And Jesus is that answer. And so I’m praying that people will be encouraged and inspired as they read the books to realize that God hasn’t stopped being active in the world today.”
