Local boy battling cancer receives check from Muskingum Valley Old-Timers Association

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local boy battling cancer received a generous donation Friday evening.

The Muskingum Valley Old-Timers Association League learned about the fight Jackson Vanest from the Sheridan 8th grade team is fighting after being diagnosed with Lymphoma. Co-President Jay Bonifant says he wanted to show his support for the family and decided to have a donation jar out at every game at Gant Stadium throughout the months of May and June.

The fans, umpires and board members raised $874 for the Vanest family and Randy Bonifant Construction donated an extra $126 to make it an even $1000 total. The Muskingum Valley Old-Timers Association League presented the check to the Vanest family at their game Friday night.
