Local Business Changes Hands

ROSEVILLE, Ohio – A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in Roseville to celebrate the business transfer of Higgins Lumber to Local Entrepreneurs Tom and Susie Piecynski.
Higgins Lumber has been serving Roseville and its surrounding communities since 1957 and the Piecynskis are planning to continue that tradition for decades to come.
“We’ve dealt with Higgins Lumber over the years and when Lacey (Geyer) owned it.” Tom said. “And she came to us about a year ago and said that she was ready to move on and start something new in her life and was wondering if we were open for the… to the opportunity. And it was an honor really that we had the opportunity. So we feel very lucky to be part of the community and to continue the Higgins legacy.”
The Piecynskis currently own Flecto Construction and operate The 146 Ohio restaurant in the Colony Square Mall. So they understand how important small businesses are within their community and throughout the local economy.
“We’ve run other businesses in the past and continue to run other businesses as well. So this was just kind of stepping into… you know it’s a different realm but same idea.” Susie said. “We do like to support the local teams, so we also give back to the schools if they need sponsorships for things. We’ve sponsored ball teams and actually I think we have a T-ball team this year. And really just reaching out to the community here and seeing what we could do to continue the legacy.”
Higgins has built their reputation by offering quality materials along with their quick and convenient services, all at affordable prices. Their lumberyard and hardware store is located at 5485 2nd Street in Roseville and online.
