Local Catholic Schools Partner up for Baby Item Drive

Rosecrans

ZANESVILLE, OH – Two local Catholic schools partnered up to help a local pregnancy center

Students from Bishop Fenwick and Bishop Rosecrans partnered collected over 7,000 items to donate to Heartbeats. Items included diapers, wipes, diapers bags, blankets, and bottles.

“Christ is the reason for our school and I think something like this is important to us because we are pro life.” Lexus Oldfield, a Senior at Bishop Rosecrans, said. “It’s important too because we are guided by Christ and do things Christ like and to do something like this and change someone’s life is what we are here for.”

Heartbeats is an organization that helps young mothers with planned or unplanned pregnancies.

“We are a life affirming medical and pregnancy resource center.” Sarah Hinebaugh, the Heartbeats Director, said. ”We are able to provide our services for free to anyone in the community who may need or want them.”

Hinebaugh said they provide free pregnancy tests, limited first trimester ultrasounds, and even options counseling.

Hinebaugh also said they plan to put the items that were donated in their boutique for their Bridges Program.

“We have a parenting program called the Bridges Program.” Heinbaugh said. “As a parent learns and comes to the Bridges Program, they earn fake money to then come in and buy items that they might need.”

Heartbeats is located at 2447 Maple Ave and they are open on Mondays and Thursday from 10AM to 7PM.
