Local Church Helps Feed the Hungry

One in three children in Muskingum County struggle with hunger, which is 47 percent.

One local church is working to change that math with its “Generosity Feeds” event. On September 27, North Terrace Church of Christ, Generosity Feeds and hundreds of volunteers will pack 30,000 meals in just two hours for hungry children in the community.

“North Terrace loves to serve the in this community and we care a lot about the children, and over the last year or two we have been working a lot with Zane Grey Elementary and their leaders and they’ve helped us understand what some the primary needs of their students were including food poverty,” said Connection’s Minister Chris Steele.

Steele said a meal through “Generosity Feeds” is something every kid can make on their own. The church will be distributing these meals weekly to different schools across the area.

“The main goal of ‘Generosity Feeds’ is to make sure kids who would otherwise go hungry, are fed, and know that they are loved by this community,” Steele said.

In an effort to meet poverty needs in the community, Steele said the church hopes to continue the event in the future.

North Terrace is still in need of more volunteers to pack the meals. If interested, you can register at, generosityfeeds.org/oh/zanesville. If you are unable to attend and still want to help, the church is also accepting monetary donations.
