Local Community Member Holds Garage Sale to Help Raise Funds For Troops

A member of the community is receiving donations for a garage sale she is holding to raise funds for Operation Spirit 4 Troops.

Spirit 4 Troops sends care packages with a variety of different requested items to military members who are currently serving. Director of Operations Melodie Pittman said she has received many messages of gratitude because of the initiative.

“We get emails all the time…right now we’re finishing shipping out the 100 cases of Girl Scout cookies we received from the Operations to Loot Program and I got a thank you note. And I said do you want anymore? And he said no. We’ll have to go out and do extra PT,” said Pittman.

Pittman stated there were several different ways to get in contact with her for those who were interested in making a donation.

“We are on Facebook. You can find us through Operation Spirit 4 Troops on Facebook and there is a phone number there and you can come out here this coming Friday or Saturday and get with me. Or you can call 740-453-6777 and leave a message,” Pittman added.

Pittman will be hosting her annual Operation Spirit 4 Troops garage sale in October as well where she is expecting to have many items donated again.
