Local Community Members Pitch in at the Festival of Trees

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Festival of Trees Auction is a unique fundraiser we have here in Zanesville.
It’s also the biggest fundraiser that the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce holds each year.
With something this big, loads of community members stepped up and volunteered.
“I love being able to volunteer and just get into the holiday spirit.” Julie Metzger, the Workforce Administrator at Ohio Means Jobs, said. “This is like a big kick off for the month of December and just being able to give back to the community means a lot.”
Keely Warden, the Executive Director at Christ’s Table, recalled memories from the first Festival of Trees.
“I was a part of the original Festival of Trees committee, many years ago when the United Way hosted it.” Warden said. “I remember going to Columbus and previewing their Festival of Trees so we brought it back to Zanesville. The United Way did it for a few years then passed it to the Chamber after that and they’re doing a super job with it.”
Warden also said the Festival of Trees is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends all while helping a good cause.
$71,195 was raised at this year’s Festival of Trees.
