Local Group Encouraging Voices on Health Care
One local group is doing what they can to encourage Muskingum County residents to voice their opinion.
A group of Muskingum County residents banded together through the Ohio Women Organizing for America grassroots project to meet and discuss ways to reach out and promote advocacy, especially when it comes to health insurance.
“Then we started saying what can we do,” said Katherine Mitzel of the group. “We started calling people and we met once or twice a week to call people. We were telling them to contact their congressman or senator to tell them that you’re in favor of health care.”
Mitzel says after a bad reception while passing out leaflets at the Muskingum County Fair, the group decided to make phone calls instead.
Mitzel stresses contacting your representative and senator and voicing your opinion.
