Local Hotel Holds Pottery Lovers Festival

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you’re a collector McCoy Pottery or just interested in trading or buying some, the Comfort Inn is where you need to be.

As a part of ‘Pottery Lovers Week,’ all pottery lovers of the many potteries that produced in this area to come together and show, swap, and sell the pottery they love. This week the Comfort Inn located off of Monroe St. is promoting McCoy Pottery.

"About 25 or 30 years ago I was on my way to an auction and I seen a piece of McCoy Pottery and my wife’s maiden name is McCoy," said Daniel Macking of
Burnsville, NC. "She liked it so that turned in the last 25 years that turned into about 700 pieces."

Macking said for the last eight years he hasn’t been able to be a part of the event due to health conditions and he’s happy to be back now.

"Great, I enjoy it. I would have been here every year if I come. It’s really nice you meet news friends and people you haven’t been in touch with," said Macking.

Macking said due to his age he has decided to sell some of the 700 pieces of McCoy Pottery that he and his wife owns. However, there still are some pieces she chooses to hold on to.
