Local Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges
A Frazeysburg man pleads guilty to charges stemming from an arrest in August where he sold drugs to an undercover officer.
31-year-old Jerome Johnson appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Monday where he entered guilty pleas to charges of trafficking in crack cocaine and tampering with evidence.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says on August 18th, Johnson unknowingly sold one ounce of crack cocaine to an undercover officer.
When authorities attempted to stop the suspect he fled and a pursuit began on Pine Street.
Johnson was finally arrested near the 6th Street bridge and Muskingum Avenue.
The drug investigation was a combined effort of the Sheriffs Office and the Zanesville Police Department drug units.
Judge Kelly Cottrill ordered a pre-sentence investigation.
Johnson’s bond was continued at $100,000.
