ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Spring is right around the corner and the warmer weather has some people itching to get back into their gardens.

Marvin Paul with Paul’s Farm Market & Greenhouses shared some tips. Though the sporadically warm days seem like the perfect weather to plant, he suggested otherwise.

“It’s just like a tease each year; some people get spring fever with our weather [but] here in Ohio our frost time is right around the 15th to the 20th of May,” said Paul.

The expected frost could be detrimental to those who plan too early.

“You need to sort of gauge yourself there,” said Paul. “You can’t get in a big hurry on some of your softer plants.”

Paul said that his years of experience means they produce a better quality.

“We’ve been here 69 years and the products we put out are something we’re proud of,” Paul said. “We put a little more TLC into it.”

Paul’s Farm Market & Greenhouses will reopen for the season on April 7th.
