Local Music: Two By Two Band

Zanesville, Ohio is rich with local music. Any given weekend you’ll be able to catch live local music somewhere in the surrounding area. Sunday, we spoke with one local band that has a message to share.

2X2 (Two By Two) was founded in 2013 when four strangers; Scott Hummel, Carrie Kerns VanSickle, Kayleigh Schofield and Nathan Zangmeister banded together in an effort to accomplish one common goal. That goal, to revive old traditional hyms and breathe new life into this sacred music.

"Our band is a gospel group, if you can see by the makeup we’ve got 20 years separation between the youngest and the oldest in the group. We also have a deep abiding love for not only Christianity, but also for the old gospel songs that we grew up listening to," stated band member Scott Hummel.

So far, 2X2 has created one album, and Sunday they gathered friends in the community to accompany them on their second.

"We’re having a little group recording session we’re working on our second CD," said member Carrie Kerns VanSickle. "So we’ve gathered up some friends and family to sing along with us today to join in on the CD."
