Local Organizations Partner Up for Upcoming Fall Festival

ZANESVILLE, OH – Several organizations are teaming up to host a day full of fun and treats for the whole family.

On October 11th from 10AM until noon at the Northside Church of the Nazarene, Care Source along with Heartbeats and the Muskingum County Women, Infants, and Children will be hosting an open house where families can learn more about the resources available to them.

Abby Corder, the Community Marketing Representative with Care Source, says there will be door prizes like a car seat up for grabs and children attending the event are invited to wear the Halloween costumes to score some yummy treats.

“In the fall it’s Medicaid Open Enrollment season so we’re currently in a time of change. Open Enrollment is officially November 1st through the 30th, but Medicaid consumers in the State of Ohio were notified in August that they can start calling now to make their choice. So, Care Source is kind of taking the lead on this Fall Festival.” Corder said.

Along with the door prizes and treats for the kids, there will also be activities for everyone and a chance to learn about some hidden gems within the community.

“This is so great to be able to come together and work with other organizations in the community that have similar target audiences.” Linda Dady, the Director of the Friends of Heartbeats, said. “I know Heartbeats, we focus on pregnant ladies and families with children ages 0 to 5 and so it’s just really nice to come together with WIC and the Muskingum County Literacy Council, they’re targeting those young ones. To come and read young, so we are just so thankful and grateful to be able to be a part of this.”
