Local OSU Alumni Partners With The 2nd & 7 Foundation to Provide Books to Zanesville 2nd Graders

Books were delivered to the three Zanesville elementary schools: Zane Grey, John McIntire, and National Road. We visited Zane Grey Elementary on Tuesday for the first delivery of books where Zanesville High School cheerleaders read the books to the second graders.

The books are from the Hog Mollies series. Each book has a lesson to be learned. Many of the books teach kids about building confidence, teamwork, and trying your best.

The 2nd and 7 Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 by former OSU football players Ryan Miller, Luke Fickell, and Mike Vrabel. The goal of the organization is to promote literacy in under privileged schools. They started out with Columbus city schools and football players would go out and read to kids and now it has been adopted into many other colleges in the country.
