Local Pizza Shop Celebrates One Year with Discounted Pies

Koky’s Pizza celebrates one year in business in downtown Zanesville Wednesday.

Owner Randy Case comes from a family of pizza pioneers. With generations before him in the business, it was only natural he open his own pepperoni paradise.

"My grandparents who finished raising me opened up their pizza shop in 1969 down in Duncan Falls and I grew up in the pizza shop so it’s kind of in the blood," said Case. "So I’ve always wanted to do it and the opportunity arose and that’s what I’m doing. "

Now he has a year under his belt and he’s ready to party with a price pizza shops haven’t seen since his grandparents were making pies. The first 25 customers can carry out a Koky’s 14 inch pizza for just $2.50.

"I just want to see people come down and try out our pizza and if you haven’t been here, come down and try it," said Case. "If you have and you’ve tried our pizza, if you get in here early enough you’re going to get a good deal. "

With sauce simmering for at least three hours and dough hand rolled fresh, Case said Wednesday is a chance to get great local food at a great price. Koky’s pizza is located on 6th street in downtown Zanesville. The pizza shop opens at 11 a.m.
