Lorena Sternwheeler Pauses Rides Due to Drought
ZANESVILLE, OH – An iconic attraction in Zanesville has paused services due to the drought.
Starting on August 26th, the Lorena Sternwheeler began to pause daily rides because of the river’s low water levels.
Jordin Harmer, the Information Specialist with Visit Zanesville, said the hope is to start doing rides again by October 2nd.
“We’re crossing our fingers that rides will resume on October 2nd, and we still have them available to get tickets,” Harmer said. “If it would not be available, we’ll make sure to call all of our guests and let them know that the water isn’t conducive to have the ride.”
Harmer said the Lorena Sternwheeler’s season will conclude on October 12th.
She said once the season is over, the Lorena will be removed from the water to perform some routine maintenance and inspection.
“If you have purchased tickets and we do have to cancel the ride, you’re entitled to a full refund,” Harmer explained.” Or if you choose, and there are rides available you can reschedule and hopefully the weather is conducive to have the rides.”
