Lorena to Open for Season

The Lorena Stern-wheeler is back for another season of cruises this summer.

The first public ride will be June 6. This year the stern-wheeler will feature all the classic cruises along with some new events. Vice President of the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Kelly Ashby further explained one of the new cruises.

“Something brand new this year is a ‘Paint and Cruise’ so that’s very popular, people love to get together and paint on canvas and so we’re offering that on the Lorena Stern-wheeler this year,” said Ashby. “[There is] just one specific day and reservations are required for that.”

The Lorena must undergo an inspection each year with the Coast Guard and Ashby said that with a Captain and crew like theirs, the Lorena passes with ease.

“The inspection went great, so we are always grateful for that we have a wonderful Stern-wheeler and a wonderful Captain and crew so we always anticipate good inspections, ” said Ashby.
