Love is in the Air: A Feline Adoption Special at the Animal Shelter
Zanesville, OH–Over 100 cats are up for adoption at the Animal Shelter Society.
From now until the end of February the animal shelter will be running feline adoption specials so you can find your ‘purrrr-fect’ match.
“Over population of felines in our community is so prevalent so right now. We have over 100 cats in our care and that’s just really too much,” Exec Dir April Gibson exclaimed. “So, we’re doing love is in the air. A feline adoption special going on from now until February 28th so any feline here at our shelter regardless of their age or at our local pet store which is ‘we love pets’ their adoption fee is 14 dollars. February 14th is kind of what we’re looking at and they’re microchipped.”
With the winter season in full swing, it is encouraged to stop by the animal shelter to see if one of these felines could become your ‘fur-ever’ friend. All of the cats up for adoption have been fully vetted with spay and neuter services, vaccinations, and deworming.
“Another reason they’re wanting to get these animals out to great homes is so we can bring others in. We have a waitlist and with the temperatures dipping down the way they are they’re very scary, highs of 10/11 degrees next week so we got to make sure these animals have protection.”
It’s important to take extra precautions while temperatures are below freezing. Straw is still available at the shelter for those who may need it for their outdoor pets.
Just a reminder, Yappy hour will be taking place March 6th at the Zanesville country club. For more information about Yappy Hour or about the feline adoption specials please visit animalsheltersociety.org.
