Lt. Governor Visits Zanesville
A state official paid a visit to the Y-city Monday to discuss healthcare reform in our nation…
Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor spoke to members of the Chamber of Commerce about mandates in the healthcare reform law coming out of Washington, and the impacts it may have locally.
"Small business owners in Ohio will see, could see premiums go up 5 to 15 percent, in some cases as much as 150 percent. They’re also going to face a market with health insurance and healthcare that is fluctuating and changing and uncertain," said Taylor.
Business owners had the chance to ask Taylor questions about those uncertainties. She said their input is taken into consideration as administration moves forward.
"It’s always good to understand that even if we’re required to do something because Washington says so, if we have no other flexibility, we need to understand how it’s going to impact small business owners. And if we impact small business owners, we impact jobs."
Approximately 50 business owners and employees attended Monday’s discussion.
