Lynch Family Hosts Benefit for Callista
Callista Lynch’s journey continued July 26 with a benefit.
The young girl is living with Spina Bifida and now uses a motorized chair to get around. She’s three this year and her parents are working to renovate their home to provide Callista with the freedom she wants.
"She’s three years old," said Callista’s Mother Kim Lynch. "She wants to be a three year old. She wants to play. She wants to move and right now our home is not really ready for that so it’s going to be nice for her to have her own space. "
The benefit will bring the family one step closer to their goal of providing a bedroom and handicap accessible bathroom for their daughter. The community did their part by stopping by. Food was for sale, as well as a silent and a Chinese auction. The hall at Prophets Park was filled with those looking to help.
"I am completely overwhelmed by the amount of people that have come and everybody’s been so generous," said Lynch. "It’s been a really good year."
The Lynch’s hope to raise 10 thousand dollars today. If they can, they will begin home renovations as soon as possible.
