Man Answers to Charges After Nine Years

A man wanted in Muskingum County for almost nine years made an appearance in court Wednesday.

52-year-old Jafar Waily of Willow Springs, North Carolina was arraigned on charges stemming from January 2001.

Assistant Prosecutor Ron Welch says Waily was picked up in Florida on a warrant out of Muskingum County.

Wednesday in Common Pleas Court he pled not-guilty to two third-degree-felony charges of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and one fifth-degree-felony charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

Judge Kelly Cottrill set Waily’s bond at $50,000. He remains in the Muskingum County Jail.
