Man Dies in Morning Crash in Coshocton County

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office received a 911 call Tuesday morning in reference to an injury accident, and deputies responded to the area of County Road 151 and State Route 751 in Oxford Township to investigate.

According to the sheriff’s office, a pickup truck driven by 35-year-old Shawn E. Braniger of  the West Lafayette area was northbound on County Road 151 when he drifted off the right side of the roadway and lost control, coming back onto the road. He then went left of center, striking an embankment and trees and rolled over.

Braniger died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the incident.

Coshocton County EMS and the West Lafayette Fire Department also responded to the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
