Man Sentenced to 9 Years in Drug Bust

A Zanesville man arrested in an April drug bust received a 9 year sentence Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.

48-year-old Gerald Fields received the sentence after pleading guilty to one count of trafficking in drugs, a felony of the second degree, and one count of permitting drug abuse, a felony of the fifth degree.

Fields was arrested after an April 2nd drug bust at 1308 Jackson Street that yielded 97 grams of powdered cocaine, 10 grams of crack cocaine, marijuana, guns and cash.

According to Prosecutor Mike Haddox, in addition to his 9 year sentence Judge Kelly Cottrill also ordered Fields to forfeit three guns, two scanners and almost one-thousand dollars in cash.
