MARIE (ABBRUZZESE) NESTOR (July 3, 1934 – September 18, 2010)

MARIE (ABBRUZZESE) NESTOR , 76. Died September 18, 2010 in Zanesville. She was born July 3, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to Nicholas and Valeria (Lena Bracaloni) Abbruzzese.
She attended Columbus St. Francis Elementary School and graduated from Grandview Heights High School in 1952. She worked as a school secretary retiring in 1982 where she served as secretary to the superintendent of New London (Ohio) schools.
Marie married Paul Nestor January 2, 1956 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Columbus with the Reverend Antimo Boerio officiating.
Marie is the loving mother of four sons: Kevin (Paula) Nestor in Mansfield, Christopher Nestor in Columbus, Michael Nestor in Westlake, and Tobin (Christine) Nestor in Zanesville. Also surviving are her husband Paul; her sisters Pauline (Johnny) Slupski and Phyliss Buchanan; her brother-in-law Richard (Darlaine) Nestor of Norwalk and sister-in-law Margaret (Thomas) Nestor of New London; her grandchildren Melissa, Allison, Stephanie, Kaitlyn and Garret Nestor of Atlanta, Georgia; Cara and Paul Nestor of Mansfield; and Nicholas Nestor and Madison Landkrohn of Zanesville. Marie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and countless beautiful cousins and friends.
Preceding her in earthly death were her mother, father, aunts Liberty (Carl) Scartz, Margaret (Louie) Bernard, Esther (Anthony) Bernard, Mary Carmel (Dominic) Caldarella; her uncles Joseph (Jeanette) Bracaloni, Dominic (Mary) Abbruzzese, Anthony Abbruzzese, and Emanuel Abbruzzese; her brothers-in-law William Nestor and Thomas (Margaret) Nestor; her maternal grandparents Umberto (Mary Rotunda) Bracaloni; her paternal grandparents Raphael and Filomena (Morlina) Abbruzzese.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday Sept. 21st at the Hillis and Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave., Zanesville and 4-7pm on Wednesday Sept. 22nd at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home 1177 W 5th Ave. Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Anthony Missimi at 12 noon on Thursday Sept. 23rd at the Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel located in St. Josephs Cemetery, 6440 South High St. Lockbourne, OH 43137 with burial to immediately follow.
