Matz New Chamber President

The Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce has a new president. Chamber Board Chairman Mike Bennett announced the promotion of Dana Matz to President Tuesday . Matz previously was the Membership Services Director and has been with the Chamber since 2002. His responsibilities as Membership Services Director included membership recruitment and retention, assisting members with the Chamber’s Workers Compensation programs and organizing member events. Matz was initially hired as manager of the Zanesville Downtown Association where he led the revitalization effort for the downtown. During his tenure as ZDA Manager the downtown saw an increase in the number of businesses to over 200, the creation of the Artist Colony of Zanesville along with traffic and safety improvements. Matz replaces Tom Poorman who resigned to take a job as a Project Manager with the Appalachian Partnership for Economic Growth.
