Mayor Tilton Meets To Discuss Roadway Maintenance In Washington Twp.

Zanesville Mayor Jeff Tilton met with Muskingum County Commissioners Monday.

It was held to discuss road maintenance in Washington Township. We spoke with Mayor Tilton after the meeting this afternoon who gave us an overview.

“A while back the Washington Township trustees came to us and wanted more money out of the Jed we have out there. So we just came today to talk to commissioners on what our options are about giving them more money or what we can do to help them out.”

The money will go toward snow removal and the mowing of the right of ways in the joint economic development district. Mayor Tilton says they are looking at several options to deal with the issue.

“Whether we give them more money per year, whether we take over the snow removal and the mowing, and just several options.”

A meeting with the trustees has been set up for late in the month of January. Mayor Tilton says they hope to come to an answer then.
