Maysville Pike Accident Under Investigation

The westbound lanes of Maysville Pike were closed for a short period of time Wednesday evening due to an accident.

The call for the crash came in shortly after 5:30 p.m.  According to Trooper T.E. Davis of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Jeep going west on Maysville Pike ran off the side of the road and hit a culvert, causing the vehicle to overturn just north of Tat’s Restaurant.

The driver of the Jeep, Hilda Gillespie, was the vehicle’s only occupant and transported herself to Good Samaritan Hospital just as a precaution. Both the State Patrol and South Zanesville Fire Department responded to the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
