MCCF Groundhog Day Celebration
ZANESVILLE, OHIO-Â The Muskingum County Community Foundations(MCCF) yearly Groundhog Day celebration is coming up on Friday, January 27th.
On Friday at 5 p.m., The MCCF will be hosting their annual celebration at the OUZ/Zane State Campus Center.
Brian Wagner, C.E.O., MCCF, said that the money they raise from this event goes directly into their spring grant competition.
“That is a competition where local non-profits and other projects may apply for the dollars that we raise on Friday,” said Wagner. Â “On average we raise about thirty-five to forty thousand dollars.”
Wagner said that they then redistribute that money as grants within the community throughout the year.
The event will feature drinks, food and a lot of live and silent auctions during Friday’s event. Â “Plus we’ll take an opportunity to honor some local philanthropists and two awards will be given out.”
