MCCF hosts annual Spring Grant Competition

 

Zanesville, Ohio- A local foundation is holding a competition for grant funds.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation announced its annual Spring Grant Competition today. Director of Donor Services for the Muskingum County Community Foundation Juliet Lacy explains the contest is open to all Muskingum County nonprofit organizations and that the money was raised right here in Zanesville.

“This is the money that was raised through our annual Groundhog day celebration. It was held January 27th this year and from that the proceeds that we raised from the auction we have about 35,000 dollars that’s available that we will be rewarding through the Spring Grant Competition.”

Lacy notes the competition is focused on four cornerstone principles this year highlighting economic vitality and education but also including arts and culture and wellness and recreation.

“80% of that money is going to go towards projects that address economic vitality and also education and then about up to 20% of the funding will go toward, could go toward, arts and culture and wellness and recreation.”
