The MCLS Family Reading Fest is Coming Up

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library System is ready to turn the page to a day of fun with this year’s Family Reading Festival.

This exciting event is in partnership with the Muskingum County Literacy Council, and will be on Saturday, June 1st from 10 AM to 1 PM at the John McIntire Library. The community is invited to meet beloved characters like Bluey, Pete the Cat, Bard the Bunny, and more. Bookworms of all ages can enjoy festivities, grab a swag bag, and explore booths from over 50 local groups.

“It’s a very fun event. There’ll be those special Family Reading Festival bags that you’re able to get. You’re able to come together and connect with the community and literacy and all these really incredible things to kick off summer reading,” MCLS Marketing and Communications Director, Sean Fennell said.

While you’re there, don’t forget to register for the summer reading program and kick off a summer of adventures.

“The Family Reading Festival is also your first opportunity to register for summer reading at an official library event. Then the next week, the following week, we have all of our branch library kick offs happening as well. You can check out all of those. They’re all a little bit different and tailored to meet the needs and interests of that community specifically,” Fennell said.

For more information or to register for summer reading, visit the Muskingum County Library System’s website.
