MCLS Partners with The Wilds
ZANESVILLE, OH – If you’re looking for a wild adventure this summer, look no further than your library card!
The Muskingum County Library System is partnering with The Wilds to offer a free open-air safari tour to library cardholders. Each household can enjoy one free tour for up to six people. Passes can be reserved online at Muskingum Library dot org and must be picked up at the selected library location. But heads up, each MCLS location can only distribute one pass per day, and only one pass per household per season is allowed.
“Under our events tab, you’ll see The Wilds passes. At midnight is when it will open for another day. So, right now we are going to open for June 13th. It’ll open up tonight. You are reserving the day that you’ll come into our library, and you’ll pick up the pass, not necessarily the day that you’ll go on the safari. Then, on your designated day, you will come in, you will show your library card, and you’ll get the pass picked up. It says on the pass what to do to actually reserve your safari,” MCLS Adult Services Librarian Heather Phillips said.
Passes are valid seven days a week through October of 2025. But remember, passes must be booked at least 72 hours in advance and can only be reserved up to 30 days ahead.
“It’s a great educational experience. I don’t know if you’ve been to The Wilds, but it is a wonderful time. You learn so much about the land, the animals, and the conservation efforts that they’re doing. I think it’s a great local resource that we have here,” Phillips said.
